The Power of Stillness

Being still opens your spiritual eye and allows you to seek the kingdom of God that’s within you. The pineal gland is the part of the brain that allows you to see when your eyes are closed. You hear the voice of God in the stillness and quietness. When we wait upon the Lord we receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing.

The Pineal Gland

The primary function of the pineal gland is the production and secretion of melatonin, a hormone that plays a crucial role in regulating the sleep-wake cycle and circadian rhythms. Melatonin production is influenced by the amount of light exposure a person receives, with the gland being more active in darkness and less active in light.

Being still opens your spiritual eye and allows you to seek the kingdom of God

Matthew 6:22-34 KJV

[22] The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. [23] But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! [24] No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. [25] Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? [26] Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? [27] Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? [28] And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: [29] And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. [30] Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? [31] Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? [32] (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. [33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. [34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Psalm 4:4 KJV

[4] Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

The Kingdom of God is within you

Luke 17:20-21 KJV

[20] And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: [21] Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

You hear the voice of God in the stillness and quietness.

1 Kings 19:11-12 KJV

[11] And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord ; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: [12] And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

Psalm 130:5 KJV

[5] I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

Wait in silence

Habakkuk 2:20 KJV

[20] But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.

Psalm 46:10 KJV

[10] Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

When we are busy and always moving we can’t hear from God. He waits till we go to sleep to speak to us.

Ecclesiastes 5:1-3 KJV

[1] Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil. [2] Be not rash with thy mouth, and let not thine heart be hasty to utter any thing before God: for God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few. [3] For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool's voice is known by multitude of words.

Job 33:14-17 KJV

[14] For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. [15] In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; [16] Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, [17] That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

When we wait upon the Lord we receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory and blessing

Rev. 5;12 12Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Waiting upon the Lord gives you power

Is. 8:17 17And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him. 18Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

Waiting upon the Lord gives you riches

Ps. 37:9-11 9For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. 10For yet a little while, and the wicked shallnot be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. 11But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Waiting upon the Lord gives you wisdom

Zech 11:11 10And I took my staff, even Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. 11And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it was the word of the LORD.

Waiting upon the Lord gives you strength

Isaiah 40:28-31 KJV

[28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Waiting on the Lord gives you honor

Zeph 3:8 7I said, Surely thou wilt fear me, thou wilt receive instruction; so their dwelling should not be cut off, howsoever I punished them: but they rose early, and corrupted all their doings. 8Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, evenall my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Waiting upon the Lord gives you glory

Ps. 123:2 2Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us. 3Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt. 4Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

Waiting upon the Lord gives you blessing

Jer. 14:22 22Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.
