God comes to purify our heart. The fear of God keeps us holy. Holiness is a fruit of the Spirit. We are to put on holiness as an armor. Without holiness you cannot see God.
God comes to purify our heart
1 Thes. 3:13 13To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
Ps. 139:23 23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Ps. 51:10 10Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
The fear of God keeps us holy
2 Cor. 7:1 1Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Ex. 20:18 18And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. 19And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die. 20And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not. 21And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
Holiness is a fruit of the Spirit
Rom. 6:22 22But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Holiness is an Armor of God
Eph. 4:24 24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Holiness allows you to see God
Heb. 12:14 14Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Matt. 5:8 8Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
