The place for open Heaven
Altars are a place of sacrifice. You can make your own altar. Designate a place or a spot for strictly offering up spiritual sacrifice of worship, reading the Bible and prayers. Altar makes room for God’s anointing and glory to linger. An open Heaven is created where there is an altar.
Build an altar by designating a place for God for prayer, worship and Bible reading
Gen. 8:20 20And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
Matt. 6:6 6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
God visits altars and can live there
Gen. 12:7 7And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him. 8And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.
Jn. 14:23 23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Worship in spirit and truth
Christ blood made it possible for us to worship in spirit and in truth. We no longer have to worship in the mountain or Jerusalem only but we can worship in spirit — any place we choose. The Jews new who they worship the Samaritan didn’t know the true God. Jesus came to reveal the true God and made it possible for us to worship in truth.
Jn. 4:20 20Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. 21Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
We are to offer spiritual sacrifice of praise, prayer and reading the Bible
1 Pet. 2:5 5Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Heb. 13:15 15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
